Become Less Reactive To The Now
The aim is to stop ourselves from being reactive - to following external influence, instant wants, or by internal fears and habits. It's getting us to think more with a big picture of our future.

To Consider Choice From Within
We also learn to be more open to seek different decisions and to solve problems, using our inner monologue more to make choices we otherwise would automatically make by habit or by societal expectation or convention. This helps us become more forward-thinking by taking us out of auto-pilot daily routine thinking.

To Stop The Habit Of Following Trends Mindlessly
One of the issues with following trends is that it doesn't necessarily lead us to be forward-thinking in a way that works for us or gets us to be visionary problem solver. It still keeps us as followers, even if trends imply future or change. We tend not to solve problems when we look at something the same way or just follow the same methods. This also applies to being pulled back in life by others, where we can end up with less energy and time by being drained by things that just don't matter.

Stay Human By Activating Critical Thinking
Stay human and avoid robotic thinking in a world that is forcing us to become more and more led by group think and technology-led data and bias. We have so many people now today who struggle to think critically because modern education has taken away their ability to consider different ways of looking at something to find a solution, and that stops individuals from being able to navigate their own future with vision.

Don't Live In The Present Without A Vision
Future You takes us away from focusing on the present when our present is one of conditioned responses. The advice of being in the present only really works if you can think freely from biases or fears that are holding you back from moving forward. Many people meditate to feel better and alert in the present, but ultimately this seldom does anything to change their future selves IF they don't align that presence with the vision of where they want to go and who they want to become.

Avoid Being A Mindless Consumer That Adds To The Problem
We are also often too much part of the problem of instant gratification that holds society (and potentially forward-minded businesses and designers) back, as if we consume what is keeping us in a state of static daily routine then we aren't doing anything to take ourselves away from that, and we don't encourage conscious designers and businesses to evolve and bring about needed change to help us all move forward and away from becoming conditioned and consumed by this comfort zone mindset (that's ultimately damaging and limiting to use as humans as it shuts our brains off from developing our prefrontal cortex).

In this first stage, we challenge conventional patterns & outdated models, and break through typical routine output, creative blocks, and comfort-led thinking (all of which limit innovation) to awaken a deeper, more conscious designer within – one who designs not for wants or feeding attention or addiction, but with intention (of what people actually need), antifragility, adaptability, and impact in a fast-changing world



Most design today is trend-led, reactive, and surface-level. In this first stage, we break through typical routine output, mental & creative blocks, and comfort-led thinking, challenge assumptions, and shift from outdated models (all of which limited innovation) to awaken a deeper, more conscious designer within - one who designs not for wants or feeding addiction, but with intention (of what people actually need), antifragility, adaptability, and impact in a fast-changing world. 

Too many designers design to fit trends and not consider psychology at all of what they are designing, and they need to get themselves out of their own routine static thinking to become capable of coming up with alternative solutions to their own biases, and to consider solutions that don't just engage user experience, but consider actual problems and needs of people (not just following trends that sell but are bad for us, but which lead towards positive impact).We need to get to a point of anti-fragility (to be uncomfortable enough to spark solutions). This is when innovation is usually born, out of need and by considering the pessimist view of a problem (with underlying optimism to come up with an improved solution). We too often stay safe due to fear, and quit at points we almost break through, and then end up just designing to people's wants, addictions, or a comfort-led mindless lifestyle - and not to what could actually help solve bigger psychological issues.We should be seeking to understand the psychology of people and create solutions that lead to good dopamine (to grow), not bad (to addict). It's about streamlining to their changing needs and recognising where they might be getting blocked in themselves or their lives, so we can create alternative solutions. i.e. what sucks them into auto-pilot each day, and how can our design solution help them be more aware and adaptable? What optimises their time and energy? etc.

Next, you’ll learn to ideate beyond what already exists, cultivating a forward-thinking mindset & building a creative problem-solving toolkit to spot (wicked) problems and consider what ideas & solutions may be needed to fuel progress & benefit people in a fast-changing world. 



Following methods only gets you so far, especially if we can't adapt when a problem arises, and so with more creative problem-solving tools and techniques at our disposal (built via 1:1 sessions or active workshop training), the more adaptability we have at solving the right problems and initiating a more effective design thinking process.For example, we may prod into a future scenario of different personas and consider a life they might be living, and then find it easier to consider what they might need around them, or what could be helping or hindering their goal - all long before this environment even exists.We become adaptive and visionary designers who are able to anticipate and stay ahead of the curve, whilst maintaining core values of solving a problem to help people - rather than being reactive designers who pander to unhealthy trends and short-termism.

Why this stage helps?Just creating more isn't the answer in a saturated attention-seeking world.We need to learn to solution-create towards specific audience and user needs. This means helping people achieve specific goals or offer more personalised and smarter solutions that adapt to different people and match to their unique needs, rather than generically making everything for everyone - especially when most people only use or need 5% of an app/service/space etc. anyway. Part of this process is in refining our ideas and insight, as we zoom in on who we can help best and how.The same goes for how we utilise our own time and energy as designers. We should also ensure we build a targeted, focused design process - one that helps us shape our ideas into bold, visionary projects, whilst ensuring we maintain the mindset, culture, and clarity needed to stay focused, inventive, and collaborative (with our team).Our refined process needs to be right for our unique needs and perspective (mission) too and which helps us (or our team) know exactly how to 'pinpoint' and run design sprints that are both effective and vision-led, rather than wasted (as they too often can be if misunderstood or misfocused).

The Design Thinking 3.0 process assumes you already have the foundational forward-thinking skills of being creative, adaptable etc. Future Makers is for when wanting to develop human-centered idea or solution as either a creator or a team/startup. If you want to bring out your vision from routine static thinking to being adaptable in mind and skill (creative blocks) then Future You and the foundational course would help you first. The Design Thinking 3.0 process focuses more on the envision stage, and on the unblocking of being an unconscious designer who isn’t designing with intention (not about them having adaptable creative skills or not). It’s product focused not self focused.  

Future You helps would-be designers get out of their own static thinking and routine life where they are consumers, not designers, takers not producers. We need to get away from the labels and move forward to develop an individual collective culture that doesn’t seek to brand themselves as virtue-signaling companies that end up looking fake with positive discrimination, but actually focus on the bringing together of humanity regardless of demographics in their work culture. This is hard for those new or stuck in green-thinking to understand at first, as to them they think they are progressive, but this is why we need visionary leaders who can see beyond this ‘tier-1’ level of thinking to truly bring about an integrated culture, not one that is at the early stages of globalised acceptance, but one that is far more matured and then which gets us back to considering what truly matters to people as humans, not as virtue-signaling groups. Taking us away from the cry for attention that is labelling, and towards a more developed global society that doesn’t need to do that.
